Wynchemna - Summer Camps
Profile
Wynchemna is a language course students talk and talk and talk about when they get back home, because we have lot of fun during the English/French classes and doing so many activities (every afternoon and every evening) seven days in a week. We also spend a week (the final week) in the Rocky Mountain National Parks (parents find it sometimes confusing how Wynchemna works), but the students love their experience in Canada.

Basically, students have classes everyday and even sometimes on Sunday when they are in Calgary. During the camping trip, there are no classes and that is why the students have classes everyday the first few weeks of Wynchemna. Students are expected to speak English at all times during the day as well as speak English during the camping trip. A lot of English is learned outside the classroom.

In the mornings, there are four hours of formal English lessons. Students have three different teachers in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings, the teachers accompany the youths to the many different recreational activities offered: beach volleyball, rock climbing, kayaking, skating, canoeing, movies, and much, much more. This means that each youth is immersed in English throughout the day.

On average, Wynchemna has one teacher for every seven or eight students. This creates a relaxing atmosphere while it encourages the youths to speak more English throughout the day.
