Founded in 1785, the University of New Brunswick is one of the oldest public universities in North America. Throughout our long history, we have influenced the future of thousands upon thousands of young scholars. UNB has shaped the social and economic landscape of this country – and beyond.
UNB is a respected institution with accomplished people. We have many of the brightest and best people in the country right now and we are continuing to attract faculty, staff and students of this high calibre. UNB is a strong national university with fully-accredited programs and a strong research base – and these will continue to remain our priorities.
I began my association with this institution in the 1960s as an Engineering student. I have been a professor for more than 30 years, have chaired the former Department of Survey Engineering, and have held the positions of Vice-President (Research and International Cooperation) and Vice-President (Academic). UNB is very important to me. I have played an active role in shaping a new vision for this institution – and in garnering support for it both inside and outside the university community.
We are committed to furthering UNB’s position as the Province’s centre for research and graduate studies, playing a lead role in advancing the social and economic agenda of Atlantic Canada, strengthening our learning-centred environment and to the advancement of a life-long learning agenda. |
